Vanderbilt lands Oklahoma wide receiver Kayleb Barnett. He officially visited Vanderbilt this weekend.
Vanderbilt lands a commitment from Oklahoma speedster Kayleb Barnett. The 5-foot-8 and 150-pound wide receiver officially visited Vanderbilt this past weekend, and he came away impressed with the Commodores.
“The (official) visit was a blast,” said Barnett. “Vanderbilt is just a great place to be, and all of the coaches are great men.”
The Jenks wide receiver was recruited by Vanderbilt offensive coordinator Tim Beck. Barnett is excited about he will be used in the Commodore offense.
“Coach Tim Beck was my main recruiter. What I like most about him is that he never gave up on me,” said Barnett. “Vanderbilt sees me as a deep threat and specialist. My strengths as a player are my speed, hands, and my eye for the ball. I run a 4.3 forty and 10.4 100-meter.”
That SEC-level speed will be a welcomed addition to the Commodore offense. The Jenks wideout has goals once he gets to West End and a message for Vanderbilt fans.
“My goals are to go play the best that I can and win a championship,” said Barnett. “The only thing that got for (Vanderbilt fans) is for them to get ready.”
