Guess it won't let me edit the fact I spelled his name wrong. Rather than burying this in another post, here is a little look at Ludwig (using ESPN stats):
Year
2014 - Wisconsin - Total Off: 12th, YPG: 468, Diff Maker: Melvin Gordon, phenomenal year by any standard,
2013 - Wisconsin - Total Off: 19th, YPG: 481, Diff Maker: Melvin Gordon, phenomenal
2012 - San Diego State - Total Off: 59th, YPG: 397, Diff Maker - another very solid performance. Fell in ranking but only a 20 yard difference from 2011
2011 - San Diego State - Total Off: 32nd, YPG: 427, Diff Maker: Ronnie Hillman - very solid team performance overall
2010 - Cal - Total Off: 96th, YPG: 334, Diff Maker: Shane Vereen, Vandy was 110th that year for perspective, they went 5-7 and Tedford got fired
2009- San Diego State - Total Off: 42nd, YPG: 392, Diff Maker: Jahvid Best
2008 - Utah - Total Off: 32nd, YPG: 401, Diff Maker: Brian Johnson, again, a huge year, soft competition other than the bowl win
2007 - Utah - Total Off: 71st, YPG: 370, Diff Maker: Brian Johnson, not my idea of a diff maker but he was the Offensive POY in their league later in 2008
2006 - Utah - Total Off: 37th, YPG: 368, Diff Maker: no draftees
2005 - Utah - Total Off: 10th, YPG: 473, Diff Maker: Quinten Ganther only offensive draftee - RB, phenomenal year (interesting that Eric Weddle threw two passes - he's a safety)
2004 - Oregon - Total Off: 51st, YPG: 397, Diff Maker: Kellen Clemens at QB
By all standards, these are great performances with the exception of two years. That was better than I expected. This doesn't take into account anything else (turnovers, defensive play, conferences, etc. - just pure offensive performances). In his worst year, I believe he outperformed even the best years under CJF - and we had pretty good offensive production in those years.
