Let’s assume Mason does coach next year. He won’t win many games. With the current talent level I am not sure a new coach would win many. A new coach would bring hope and excitement. With Mason back attendance will continue to be at an laughable low. A new coach would keep some players from possibly transferring.
The positives. After next year Mason will be fired. What if Turner can get the ground broke on some facility upgrades, not the stadium. What if he can get some budget things done like a larger recruiting budget. The university starting to show commitment might expand the list of coaches that would come here given us a chance for a better coach.
It is what it is but maybe there is a sliver lining in this very dark cloud.
