It's August so the Little Leaguers take over for a month to bridge the gap between the VandyBoys and Dores football.
Our local Goodlettsville team is at it again. Having won the Tennessee title they went down to Georgia and defeated Alabama last night 6-2 in the opening game of the Southeast Regional. Joey Hale is at it again and hoping to recreate the magic of 2012.
Carson Rucker was the star of the game going 2-3 with 4 RBI and a home run. Johnny Wholestaff gave up 2 runs in the 1st to Bama but the rest of the guys shut them down after that.
Carson Rucker is very similar to CarsonFulmer if you just change a few letters.
Today the little guys will play Georgia with the winner advancing to the semifinals against either Florida or the NC/SC winner.
The game can be viewed on Watch ESPN at2 pm. [make that 3 pm]
The semifinals and finals will be shown on ESPN on Monday at6 pm [7 pm] and Wednesday at 2 pm [3 pm] . Let's hope the Goodlettsville guys will be playing.
The World Series will begin August 17th with a full slate of games scheduled during the solar eclipse on August 21st.
