Lea said for the first couple years he wanted to build a program through HS recruiting and limiting the use of the portal, which obviously was not working. My question is was he saying that out of real belief he could make HS recruiting work and build a program of players who wouldn’t be poached by bigger schools with higher NIL, or did he say it because of the limited NIL funding he had for the first couple years, or both?
I’m still not sold on CCL as a HC, but I’m curious about what his thought process was.
