I was at the game last Sat., my first game in person since the 2018 Texas Bowl. With the new coach my brother in law, an alum from the same year as me, and I decided we go in for a pair of tickets. He's in PA, I'm in OK, so we generally donate them. But hey, we might be able to win this one, so let's go.
I've seen a lot of VU games, so when we were up 11, I knew it wasn't over. After the 4th and 18 debacle, again, no big shock, I told my BIL - with about 1:30 left - we need to let them score quickly here, so we have some time to get a tying or winning field goal. He laughed. They scored 2 plays later.
It would have been interesting if they had used more time, maybe run us out of timeouts, scored with maybe :15 or so left. I know we didn't intentionally let them score, but I think it worked out for us about as well as it could have.
