I've had this feeling that he wanted out of this situation ever since last year after the WKU game and whether he wins another game or not, I bet he wants out. It's clear he's in over his head and he knows it, but more importantly, Mason knows that he isn't wanted here. He may not be the brightest coach, but he is smart enough to know that this fanbase wants him gone.

I bet he negotiates a buyout about half of what it would have been knowing he will get a DC job that pays around a million per.

He has a ton of self pride, so he will want to go out on his own terms.
