Or better stated, what I would do in that position.
1. Reassign ADCSL to some position entirely outside the AD, today.
2. Make Corbin interim AD today,
3. Fire Stackhouse end of season or before if we don’t win next 4 games and don’t hire a search committee. Let Corbin lead the search. Winners know winners.
4. Hire new AD this summer
5. Fire Lea if we can not somehow manage to eke out a whopping more than wins in season 4.
Other than baseball and some interest in women’s hoops, Vandy is a void of emptiness in the sports world in the two sports it matters. As in think, like Northwestern in the early 1990s as a pathetic example, that’s how people think of us, if they ever do. Optically it’s not a great look. I acutely get how hard it would be for the Chancellor to make those three replacements — but that doesn’t mean he can’t do it without enough will. What more incentive than completely empty stadium, resigned fans and media negativity does one need to get said willpower? — you can talk all you want about aspiring to be excellent at all Vanderbilt does at some point prove it.
