Just some quick Friday evening recruiting notes to pass along...
- Vanderbilt has been expressing interest in Dudley (N.C.) running back Connell Young, the 6-foot-1, 192-pound prospect has notable offers from Syracuse and East Carolina and told us he's hoping to visit Vanderbilt sometime during the fall.
- Seminole (Fla.) offensive tackle and Vanderbilt target Brandon Walton told us he's hoping to take his official visit to Vanderbilt in the next month or two. Keeping up with the offensive tackle theme - another Florida target will take an official visit on September 12th in Grayson Stover. Other offensive tackle prospects that Vanderbilt is keeping their eye on are Milton (Ga.) product Tyler Watson and Felipe Fernandez out of Plant (Fla.).
- Lawrence Central (Ind.) kicker/punter Nash Griffin informed us that he will be visiting Vanderbilt the weekend of the Georgia game as well. He said the Commodores have been showing a lot of interest in him and he's hoping to eventually land an offer from them down the road. Of course, Vanderbilt likes him as a punter.
- Also on the weekend of September 12th, Land O' Lakes (Fla.) safety Colton Smith informed us that he will be visiting. The coaching staff sees Smith as a preferred walk-on candidate.
