In the aftermath of the big Zaire Jones commitment over the weekend, here are some more football recruiting tidbits we'd like to give you:

- While the belief is this class will consist of 16 commitments, we're hearing there is no real cutoff number for this class with the possibility it could grow due to current roster attrition (as happens most every year). So, Select 16 could turn into Select 17, 18, or more.

- Funny story here...according to sources, Vanderbilt defensive tackle commitment Brandon Adams tagged along on an Ole Miss visit with his teammate, friend, and Rebel commit Bryce Mathews. No worries Commodore fans, Adams was seen sitting in front of the Ole Miss recruiting seating section cheering on the Commodores on Saturday night. I think it's safe to say Adams is a great friend and all in with Vanderbilt.

- Here is a quick snippet of Vanderbilt's top targets by position:

Top target: Joejuan Williams
RB: Trevor Speights, Tre Harbison, Rico Dowdle, Anthony Julmisse
OT: Brandon Walton, Coy Cronk (being recruited as a DE as well)
WR: Rontavious Groves, Donald Stewart, Kyle Oliver (JUCO)

- Yes, we mentioned Kyle Oliver for a reason. While Groves and Stewart are still in play, Vanderbilt has a really good shot at landing Oliver as a JUCO transfer. If you remember, Oliver looked into enrolling at Vanderbilt before the fall semester after the Tennessee debacle, but chose to enroll at Jones County Junior College in Mississippi. There will likely be a hard push for him and fill Vanderbilt's "big" receiver position in this class.

- In regards to offensive tackle, it looks like the staff is wanting to add at least two more in this class. There is a good feeling with Cronk and Walton is expected to take his official visit sometime in the coming weeks. The coaching staff is also keeping a few OT prospects they are recruiting and evaluating quiet. So, if things don't work out with their top guys they will have solid backup plans. A couple of those backup plans could include Felipe Fernandez and Wake Forest commitment Tyler Watson
