that an early plan for Memorial Gymnasium was to attach it to the north end zone of Dudley Field and add a second deck to the football stadium?
The plan got far enough along that there were renderings in the 1947 yearbook.
I was working on filling out the 1940s in my uniform database when I noticed this in The Commodore.
Keeble went on to design the Memorial Gym we know and love today, built in 1952. You can see some similarities in the seating areas of the “original” design and what they ended up on.
It’s wild to think about how different everything could look today if this plan went through.
