The contact period begins today and all of Vanderbilt's coaches will be scattered within the borders of Tennessee, checking in mostly with underclassmen. Most coaches will be in the Nashville area.

One 2020 prospect to keep an eye on is Haywood (Tenn.) defensive end Markeston Douglas, who has picked up recent power five offers from Kansas and Florida State. Douglas is a basketball player, who just completed his first season of high school football this past season. He grabbed lower-level offers from Austin Peay, Chattanooga, and Akron during the season as well.

Defensive line coach Jovan Haye is in Memphis today and is looking to visit Douglas.

Here is an official visit preview from Michael Langston of Warchant.com on current Vanderbilt commit Donovan Kaufman:

The Skinny on Kaufman & FSU; What to watch for on visit this weekend

While defensive backs aren't a pressing need for Florida State right now, the 'Noles would like to add one more talented safety if they can. And Donovan Kaufman is the name we've heard is at the top of their list.

We've been told Kaufman has a great relationship with new linebackers coach Chris Marve and Norvell. He also is excited about the defense that FSU defensive coordinator Adam Fuller runs. There's a lot of blitzing from defensive backs off the edge, and that fits right into Kaufman's skill set.

Considering Kaufman is currently committed to Vanderbilt, you can expect FSU to make a very detailed academic presentation. Norvell places a major emphasis on academics with his program, so that should be appealing to the four-star DB. When you consider that he is committed to a school in Tennessee and is also considering Ole Miss, location obviously isn't a huge concern for the Louisiana product, but he will need to get a strong comfort level with the Seminoles' current roster and other recruits. We'll be watching to see how those interactions go throughout the weekend.

Kaufman is also expected to visit Ole Miss, so FSU will try to set a high bar with this visit. The Louisiana connections with RBs coach David Johnson could also loom large here. We're not expecting a commitment this weekend, but it's not out of the question if the 'Noles hit a home run.
