We’ve talked about this a good bit on this site with some good ideas about how to either LIMIT opposing fanbase attendance or MAKE HUGE MONEY off of opposing fanbases.
The latter is probably more realistic this season.
The mechanics of how to do it will require some creativity but essentially we talked about identifying our fans and selling us season tickets at a normal rate. Once we’ve identified that pool, shut off single game sales until the week of the game (or maybe two weeks in advance) and use surge pricing to take advantage of high demand and make that extra money the secondary market ticket brokers have been making ourselves.
I also think you need to have a portal for Vandy fans who want single game tickets. We simply need to vet and make sure they’re vandy fans, then they can buy at non surge pricing.
This will net one of two things:
A half empty stadium full of Vandy fans and thusly, a huge home field advantage for the first time in years.
OR
What we normally see, a stadium full of opposing fans.
BUT
If we have a stadium full of opposing fans at $250 a ticket, we take any revenue over say $50 a ticket and use it towards NIL. So we’re basically funding our own NIL program with opposing fans’ money. This will take a little time but eventually, this will net a stadium full of Vandy fans.
If Candice and or anybody over there cared, they would investigate this method and make it happen. We have a uniquely small venue which creates mega demand because we’re in the SEC, let’s turn this thing around.
