D1Baseball had some interesting information when discussing Auburn, Ole Miss, and South Carolina in their latest "Ouch List". Historically, the committee has frowned upon SEC teams with an RPI in the 40s. Currently, here are the SEC bubble teams:

Vanderbilt - 22 (SOS #1)
South Carolina - 30 (SOS #3)
Ole Miss - 32 (SOS #8)
Auburn - 45 (SOS #35)

Kendall Rogers also points out that he thinks a .500 conference record or better should be required though this isn't a criteria of the NCAA committee. Several SEC teams have made it in with sub. 500 conference records and I expect some teams across the country to make it in this year as well with a top-heavy PAC 12.

Vanderbilt - (13-13)
South Carolina - (12-15)
Ole Miss - (13-14)
Auburn - (14-13)

Here's the moral of the story for Vanderbilt this week. Take 2 out of 3 from Alabama and you make the tournament. A loss to MTSU isn't ideal but wouldn't kill us if we finish above .500.

3-1 and the RPI finishes in the 25-27 range.
2-2 and the RPI finishes in the 30-35 range.
Worse than 2-2 and we can send our guys to their respective summer leagues early.
