A refresher and a few new items to pass along. We'll start with the new:

- There has been some questions surrounding Sheppard not signing with Vanderbilt during the early signing period. There is nothing to worry about here. The three-star prospect is actually signed and in the class, just holding off on announcing it publicly until February so he can have the announcement with his team and family.

UNSIGNED DL:

- Shand took an official visit to Vanderbilt the weekend of December 14th, so the Commodores already have an in here. The two-star prospect told us after his visit that he was going to wait until February to sign, so that gives programs like Rutgers and Virginia to get him on campus as well. Shand has an official visit scheduled with Rutgers the weekend of January 31st and a lot of FutureCasts have been put in for Rutgers in recent days.

- Recruiting updates have been quiet for Hardy since the summer. After reaching out to him recently, the three-star prospect told us that he intends to take an official to Vanderbilt in January. Hardy has already previously visited West End during the spring and has maintained a great relationship with Jovan Haye throughout. Auburn and Florida Atlantic are other schools that remain in the mix for the 6-foot-3, 275-pound prospect.

KAUFMAN, LUNDY WATCH:

- Longtime Vandy safety commit Donovan Kaufman will take his official visit to Florida State the weekend of January 17th. Nothing is really different with RB target DJ Lundy, he will take an official visit to Virginia Tech (who like him at linebacker) this month and would assume Georgia is in line to get an official, but not sure about that.

STANFORD TRANSFERS:

- Appears some mutual interest between these three Stanford players and Vanderbilt, how far that will materialize remains to be seen. I've already talked about Williams and Swann in an update I posted last week. Pryts just popped in the transfer portal before Christmas, he is also a graduate transfer that started all 12 games at linebacker for the Cardinal last season and posted a team-high 72 tackles. Pryts had a Vanderbilt offer as a high school recruit.
