The more I look at Harvey, the most “powerful” member of the new VU athletics club, lashing out at Will Perdue, arguably Vandy’s single most influential and successful athletics alum, the more it ticks me off. Was Harvey selected by a legitimate process or was he selected via the “behind closed doors buddy system?”
He should have contacted Will privately and said “hey I see that $100M academic drive too - - that is great for the University and we are working on the same thing for athletics with Candace. As one of our most celebrated athletics alums we would like for you to meet with Candace, the new Deputy AD and potentially CDD as we think it could help get our support ramped up.”
Instead he blasts him and accuses him. What kind of bad look is that? Candace in her interviews earlier this year seemed defensive and unprepared. Harvey seems defensive and flippant. The fact he brought bigotry into the conversation is absolutely stunning and unforgivable.
