Based on the average of recruiting classes over the past five years, Vandy should win one game in its last 5, Western Kentucky. Looking at the other four games, the most to least talented teams, based on recruiting rankings, are as follows:

Tennessee Total recruits 136 National 5 Year Avg. Rank 14th SEC 5 year Avg. Rank 6th
So. Carolina Tot recruits 137 National 5 Year Avg. Rank 21st SEC 5 Year Avg. Rank 9th
Kentucky Total recruits 128 National 5 Yr Avg. Rank 32nd SEC 5 Year Avg. Rank 12th
Missouri Total recruits 118 National 5 Yr. Avg. Rank 39th SEC 5 Year Avg. Rank 13th

Vandy Total recruits 110 National 5 Yr. Avg. Rank 48th SEC 5 Year Avg. Rank 14th

Based on being able to offer 125 scholarships over the 5 year period and have at most 85 on the roster at any point in time, some of the teams have had much more turnover than others. This could be due to "processing" the roster, normal transfers and injuries. Based on solely this data, Vandy should have no shot at Tennessee and South Carolina, plus both are road games which should increase the degree of difficulty. However, Kentucky and Missouri should be winnable given that both games are at Vandy and the recruiting variance is within reason. The five year average player recruiting average for KY is 85.57, for Mizzu 85.12 and for Vandy 84.13.So base expectation would be a 4 - 8 season with some realistic chance at 6 - 6. One other note, Vandy's current recruiting class is much better than its 5 year average and if Vandy can get to 6-6 and a bowl game should continue to have an uptick in its next recruiting class based on prior history. Vandy can get into the top 10 in recruiting in the SEC and that will give it a chance to grow from there. Greater Administrative support of the program would be most helpful.
