Letting Jason Edwards walk is going to hurt this program…

…bad move by the egos making these decisions. If they think they can get 17 ppg for less than 1.5 million, they are fooling themselves.

The problem is that everyone will increase NIL significantly this offseason and we will be left with scraps if we haven’t also significantly increased our NIL budget.

Going back to being everyone’s scheduled WIN is going to suck.

I like Byington but I think this move is reckless unless they have suitable replacements in hand.

Am I the only one?

Am I the only one who pretty much doesn't really care if Edwards or Carey stays or goes? After reading all the comments, this is about how I feel. One person said that when you pay a player, you are not buying that player, but you are renting him for one year. Maybe that "lease" will be renewed for a second year, maybe not. If not, you simply rent another player to fill that spot. Hopefully, the new player will be better for the team than the player that left. But who knows? This is college sports today. Everyone knows this is not good for coaches, players or fans. But it is what we have. I thoroughly enjoyed this past season and loved seeing Memorial get back some of its magic. Maybe all of Vandy's players that can return for next season will do so and we will have a good nucleus of players to build on. But if not, we will just have to wait and see what the new "rentals" can bring to the program. Anchor Down and Go Dores.

Walk to the Hawk

As many of the VandyBoy fans walk from the parking lots to the Hawk, they file past Mcgugin where the National Championship banners are displayed. And at one end of those banners is a large attractive banner of the football schedule---the 2024 football schedule! Doesn't anyone in the athletic department ever walk by there and think that it might be a good idea to take that down? A minor thing maybe but displaying last year's schedule like that does not seem to be a good way to build excitement for the upcoming season.

New three-star EDGE commit Joey Quinn…

Was able to reach him to find out why he announced for Vandy today:

“I loved everything about the place when I visited,” Quinn said. “The biggest thing was the relationship I felt with the Coaches, I felt that they really wanted me there and I feel that Vandy is home.”

Love this pickup for Vandy. Good upside kid who comes from a big time HS program.

You think Rustan Rigdon wants back in the lineup?

This kid is a stud, fellas. Hope he fights his way back in the lineup eventually.

4-5, 2 rbi, 1 run

I am a fan of his swing.

20-5 now, huge series coming up against Arkansas. Not sure we have enough to win that series but it would be incredible if we did.

Go Dores!

PS - Brodie didn’t have a great night but dude bops! Hit his 5th homer of the season.

Portal Market

Can anyone with inside knowledge describe the NIL market? It’s really hard to put demands (or rumored demands) in context without knowing what the market bears now. For example, let’s assume for sake of discussion that Edwards wants $1.5 million. We don’t know if that’s high without also knowing what the market is for scorers.
