GA State loss to Ga Southern

Appears Southern controlled the whole game. Hurst had one TD. But Ga southern essentially controlled the game.

Puts a damper more on VU’s performance against GA State. Compares more to the ETSU, UNLV games that showed Lea’s lack of preparation to get his team ready to play and then lack of making winning plays against an inferior opponent.

Kill’s teams do improve. So can the offense get better? The OL can definitely get better. Can more receivers step up? Maybe with Spence, McVay and Tristen Brown.

That loss is a real downer. Got to move on.

Where can they win next?

Auburn
South Carolina
Ball State

Kentucky
LSU

Bama
TX
UT JR.

They will have to play great to beat Auburn and South Carolina

Will need KY or LSU to play their worst games.

The remaining 3. Tough games.

A few weeks yet before teams separate themselves. Still fun to speculate. I believe it was Chris who tweeted the Alabama - Georgia game was the best evidence in support of the 12 team playoff, or something like that. Spot on.

Vandy NYC campus????

Rewatching the game

The Noel fumble should’ve been a fumble. When Hight hit the ball it clearly becomes dislodged. The runner is attempting to regain control but it is a bang bang play. There is no time to fully regain control and the ball pops out on contact of the ground. In super slow motion maybe you can say he had control for .0001 seconds but in reality, it was a fumble.

Offense was so bad the first 3 quarters, it’s amazing the amount of hate the defense is getting. It could’ve easily been 35-13 if not for the defense holding up. By my count 7 of the first 10 drives were 3 and out.

if I were a betting man I would say Mitchell spit on the Missouri player and got flagged for it. Still working through the game I don’t remember the offense being this bad real time.

The ACC is "BUSH LEAGUE" !!!

The announcers and the "expert" rules consultant all agreed there was not enough shown on the video replay to reverse that call of a VT TD at the end of that game. Judging from the time it took to make the decision to reverse the call, I believe the "Bush League" commissioner made the call to try and protect their only top 10 ranked team. They should legitimately drop below Missouri.

NIL---everyone gets some?

Now that we've got some time, I thought I'd bring up something that came up recently about NIL money. Several folks made some comments that very little if any NIL money should be directed to non-revenue sports. After all, who cares about women's basketball, soccer, men's and women's golf. These folks felt NIL funds should be directed almost entirely to football and men's basketball, especially football. It seems like I am often in the position on this board of standing up for non-revenue sports. In addition to football and men's basketball, I attend women's basketball and baseball games and although I don't attend other non-revenue sports very often, I do keep track of their seasons, etc. Now, I am not clear on what ADCSL now thinks about NIL funds and I don't know if it really matters. But I feel that each and every sport should be able to receive NIL funding not only to the level where they can field competitive teams but also have a realistic chance to compete for championships as well. It is the responsibility of the University to find ways to raise these funds. Football can receive the lion's share but every sport, even the non-revenue sports, need to be adequately funded.
