Football Lane Kiffin

Has now brought in two QB transfers, Spencer Sanders from Oklahoma State and Walker Howard from LSU. Odd considering Jaxon Dart was a big land for them a year ago and while not elite he was very solid and was only a 2nd year player a year ago. Seems odd from a locker room perspective as well as NIL considering they’re spending a lot on 3 QBs when they probably need to really revamp their defense

Basketball Some Pat Kelsey Numbers

Winthrop's record over two season's before Kelsey's arrival: 25-37
Winthrop's record in Kelsey's first two years there: 34-30

He followed this with four regular season Big South championships and three conference tournament championships in 8 seasons.

Charleston's record over two season's before Kelsey's arrival: 26-24
Charleston's record over Kelsey's first 1.5 season's: 36-16

Currently, he has Charleston at 19-1 and on a 18 game winning streak, with their lone loss of the season coming at North Carolina. They are ranked #18 in the country and just keep on winning. His team's love to shoot the three and they shoot it well.

All this to say, he is a guy who has experience turning around not one, but two programs who weren't in great spots when he took over. If you aren't going for a big name, he is at the top of the board and you hire him as quickly as you can if he's interested.

Audio PODCAST: A wild win over Arkansas, football construction starting, more

Vanderbilt endured foul trouble to Liam Robbins and the short end of the technical foul spectrum to score a 97-84 win over then-No. 15 Arkansas, thanks to a 63-point second half. With Jordan Wright getting healthy and Tyrin Lawrence playing well, do the Commodores have another level in them--and if so, what would it take to make the NCAA tournament? And is officiating bias against coaches and teams a thing? Chris Lee and Luke Wyatt also outline some tentative dates for football facility construction and also take a bunch of mailbag questions.

Vanderbilt lost to Alabama in its first game without Liam Robbins, who's out a month or more with a foot injury. Chris Lee and Voice of the Commodores Andrew Allegretta discuss that, who picks up the slack going forward and get into D1 Baseball's preseason Top 25, which has a heavy presence of Vanderbilt opponents.

Basketball Explain these minutes

Three players are getting minutes that they don't deserve, over the freshmen of the future. They must be great in practice, because they suck in games. And, these ppg numbers are skewed in their favor because of the nonconference games, these players ppg is down since SEC play started.

QMB gets 15.7 mpg, and 3.2 ppg. Now, going forward, Stack has no choice here because of the Robbins injury. But, he did before the Robbins injury. Dort should've been getting some of these minutes.

Trey Thomas gets 23.9 mpg and 6.5 ppg. It's absolutely ridiculous that TT gets the minutes he plays. He shouldn't play 10 minutes a game, yet he somehow starts. Lewis should be getting half of his PG minutes and Shelby should be getting half of his SG minutes.

Stute gets 28.1 mpg and 9.9 ppg. This one at least makes some sense, as Stute has been productive as a spot up shooter in the past. But, his shooting percentages have dropped of significantly in SEC play. Dia should be cutting into these minutes.

Now, Colin Smith is stinking up the place too at 16.4 mpg 4.4 ppg. But, he is at least getting minutes that will pay off down the road if he's any good. The other freshmen need to as well.

QMB, TT, and Stute continuing to get the minutes that they are getting with their lack of production just doesn't make any sense.

Basketball I heard CKS say this probably 50 times

Offense always looks better when you are making shots. VU made a bunch of shots vs AR. Not doing it tonight. Hopefully that changes last 15 minutes as I like their effort but I was thinking as I was watching the AR game was this the team playing better or simply just shooting better and could they possibly shoot this good even 2/3rds of their remaining. games.

Of course not having Robbins hurts as he helps gives VU space on the perimeter and a dump down option they don’t have for sure as much without him.

FB Recruiting 2024 WR Nitro Tuggle talks recent Vanderbilt offer

I caught up with recent 2024 offer Nitro Tuggle. He definitely doesn't lack confidence, and he is trying to get to Vanderbilt for the Junior day later this month. Good interview and great film.
