As far as this hoops season goes

I haven’t had a positive sustained happy experience with Vanderbilt basketball since the Vanderbilt vs Southern Cal game with Darius Garland. After that game IIRC he sustained the injury in the following game. It has been downhill from there. I’m just enjoying this win streak and it is a feeling I haven’t had in many many years. Will we make the NCAAs? Who know but just enjoying the streak.

Almost All MBB Statistical Rankings on one site

I’m sure a lot of you already know about Ken Massey’s site, which collects a lot of the statistical MBB ratings systems. If you don’t here it is: https://masseyratings.com/cb/compare.htm

I find it hard to follow on a tablet or phone and recommend a laptop or desktop. I’ve actually found it easiest to download the .csv, convert to excel, and pin the labels. It only takes a second and saves minutes.

Edit: I forgot to point out that he provides a mean, trimmed mean, median, and standard deviation. Obviously, usually gets bigger as the rankings move away from the top 10.

Up to 87 in KenPom...

which isn't great because that tracks pretty closely with the NET, and Vanderbilt was 89 in KenPom coming into today and 91 in the NET.

If you're looking for an explanation:
- It's one game out of 27.
- It was at home.
- It came by two points and margin of victory matters.

NOW... I do think wins and losses matter more than NET rankings but they're also not going to give an at-large to a team in the 80s.
