What is going on? Class starts in 6 weeks and most MBB players are already on campus at most schools. I thought the deadline had passed.

Congratulations on making the Collegiate National Team first roster.

Have confirmed that former Texas A&M guard Jordan Williams will join Vanderbilt this season. He is also listed on the roster.

6-foot-3 guard that redshirted in his freshman season. Held offers from Mississippi State, St. John's, Virginia Tech and more out of high school.

Braden Montgomery at Stanford, an outfielder who was the Pac-12 freshman of the year last year and a likely first-rounder next year. He's a career .313/.414/.603 hitter with 35 career homers. He's also pitched, though it didn't go well this year when he did.

Vanderbilt was very involved in his recruiting out of high school and he camped at Vandy as a high school freshman. But the circumstances-they had Bradfield, Pete Crow-Armstrong and Robert Hassell committed--just weren't great for an outfield commit or scholarship-wise (even with the 117.7 scholarships Vandy has to give) at the time and so he wound up at Stanford.

A couple of sources I have with connections to the scouting community both brought his name up yesterday in conjunction with his possibly entering the portal, as that talk has been out there weeks. One of those sources thinks it would be either Vandy or Mississippi State if he were to transfer (Madison, Mississippi is his home).

Anyway, that may or may not materialize but wanted to pass that along in case.

- Barrett is now solidly committed to the Commodores after a brief commitment to Wake Forest. Barrett has been to campus multiple times and will probably be doing some recruiting of his own this weekend.

- Carter has already made an unofficial trip to Vanderbilt back in May. He'll get a more detailed feel for the program this weekend. Carter has taken June officials with Texas Tech, Washington, and Nebraska. Right now, Texas Tech has two FutureCasts in their favor coming off last weekend's official. We'll see if Vandy can swing the momentum back in their favor. He plans to announce his decision on July 8th.

- A talented teammate of Cater's, who was also at Vanderbilt previously in May. Texas Tech is also making a strong push here it appears as he's also taken an official visit there along with Oregon State.

- Vanderbilt is Hamby's best offer to date, so he'll definitely be on commit watch if the Commodores want him. He picked up an offer back in April and has other notable offers from Tulane, Louisiana Tech, and Louisiana-Monroe. He recently won the Louisiana 1A long jump state title, clearing 22'9 3/4"

- Patterson is another productive running back target that is expected in town. So far, he's taken officials with Rutgers, Boston College, Kentucky, and Cincinnati. During his junior season, Patterson rushed for 2,714 yards and 35 touchdowns and also shines in track and as a basketball player. It looks like the Wildcats might have some momentum here, but Vandy will get the final impression.

- This is a recruiting battle that you'd like to see Vanderbilt win. The staff offered way back in January, then Bradford's recruiting process blew up during the spring. The three-star has already been to Vanderbilt back in March. He has taken June officials to Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Indiana. Kentucky is also making a strong push and hoping to get him on campus for an official in the fall. We'll see if Vandy can seal the deal this weekend.

- More edge rushing options are always a good thing. Carter has taken June officials with Rutgers, Minnesota, and Missouri so far. Currently, we've heard he is not a take for Missouri and he might move up Minnesota's target board if they miss out on Wyatt Gilmore. Stanford just offered the other day, so that could be an intriguing option for the Florida native as well.

2025 tight end Ryan Ghea out of Milton (Ga.), a four-star recruiting target, was at West End this past week to visit with Vanderbilt.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound recruit out of Milton, GA. sat down with VandySportsDotCom to go in-depth on his interest in the Commodores program following his experience in Nashville.

Ghea said that he had a great time in Nashville and liked being around the players. What really stood out to him was being able to see his old mentor Cole Spence.

"It was a great visit," Ghea said. "Just being around the players, you could really feel the family feel. And also, just seeing my mentor Cole Spence again was amazing."

Ghea said that since the Commodores' coaching staff got involved in his recruitment, he's connected with Vanderbilt associate head coach, special teams coordinator and tight ends coach Justin Lustig and offensive analyst Brendan Flaherty.

"I have been in contact with Coach Lustig and Coach Flaherty," Ghea said. "And just being around them, watching some clips and seeing what they're doing to develop their tight ends was amazing... They loved my film and think that I could fit in well with their offense and make an impact."

Ghea said that the Commodores have been involved in his recruitment since his 8th grade year of football, adding an offer to his resume from Vanderbilt this past November. After his recent visit in Nashville, Ghea said that he will be visiting Michigan.

"They have been involved since 8th grade," Ghea said. "They offered me last November. I will be at Michigan tomorrow and that's the last one I have for a little while."

Picked up an offer from Vanderbilt during the summer during one of their Elite Camps. I interviewed Lawrence at the Tennessee State Mega Camp recently, he talked very highly of the Commodores. Obviously, decided to jump in the 2025 class early
