Game 2 at aTm

I see our season at a crossroads. 8-5 is a very good record. We should be happy with that. Getting blown out 15-0 is just one loss. Unless we dwell on it and then you have the SC disaster all over again. I think we flush it and start anew. Holton has been our stopper and he can keep their lineup in check for 6+ IP. We face a hittable RHP and I expect Kozeal,LaNeve and possibly Ossenfort to provide new spark to the lineup. I think we show our true colors tonight. Carter and others to close. Win this game and we have the momentum into the Sunday finale. I like our chances in that event just as we saw at LSU. SEC baseball is a marathon not a sprint. Keep the faith.

Spring practice report 4/9

I don't have a ton from today, but here goes:

DNP:
  • Darren Agu
  • Bradley Mann
  • Grayson Morgan
  • Gage Pitchford
  • Jeffrey Ugo
Takeaways:
  • Nate Johnson was inaccurate at times and had some misreads
  • Still trying to walk the line of not getting too high on the secondary, while also considering the performance of the quarterbacks
  • Steven Sannieniola is starting to make plays
  • Berlowitz might have the strongest arm out of the quarterbacks
  • Martel Hight is making plays
  • Cole Spence dangerous in the open field
  • Gabe Fisher had a LOUD block
Interviews will be up shortly.

I’m going to be away frequently the next few weeks

My dad had a knee replacement Monday, he is in some kind of wretchedly awful pain, my mom has dementia and is not in shape to take care of him and so I’m going to be living with my parents, taking him to appointments, lots of things like that over the next few weeks, in tandem with my brothers. I will probably be able to watch some baseball here and there and chime in where able but I have no idea what that’ll look like day in and day out.

I trust Billy and Joey to run things in my absence and please, no message board stupidity that needs anyone’s attention (again, please).

Anyway, that accounts for my absence this week, and for those of you who pray, we could use that about now. My folks are wonderful people but they’re both north of 80 and it’s awful to see them go through this.

This will probably only affect @Chris Lee @Billy Derrick @Joey Dwyer but construction has begun on the Vanderbilt pressbox

College Baseball - Mid-Season (or a Little Past that Point) -

Who would have "thunk" it that VU would not receive a single mention (unless I missed one)? Have we slid down that far in terms of visibility, or performance, or something else? Or, is it because we just have a team with a lot of good players, but no one really great? Or, is it because our in-conference performance is "good" to date, but not outstanding?
