Eli Stowers

I'm very high on Stowers. Big time athlete at hybrid TE / WR. Knows Beck system. This play was designed and executed absolutely beautifully. Bc "poor mans" version of players is being thrown around, I'm going to say he could be our poor man's Brock Bowers do it all type player. Fry me if you want, but I think sky is the limit for Stowers this season.

Nate Johnson

I’m sure that Nate Johnson is bitterly disappointed to be the 3rd string QB. He clearly came to Vanderbilt with designs on being an SEC starting QB. But….I was very impressed to see none other than Nate Johnson walk out on the field to encourage Brock Taylor just prior to the game-winning FG attempt. Good on Nate for being a team player even during personal adversity.

My biggest takeaway

The biggest thing I took away from yesterday was the size of the team. Stiner was hyped up to be a good hire and making a difference all summer, and we really saw that come to fruition yesterday. The team looked like an SEC team. That’s going to be huge when we get to those winnable SEC games

Kudos to Clark, staff, and the team yesterday. Most complete and complementary football game of his tenure outside of maybe Florida 2022. Great win!
