- Lee Dort is "on the mend" and 3 to 4 weeks away.
- Colin Smith should play the 3 or 4 and did play the 5 last year.
- Tyrin Lawrence has become more of a vocal leader.
- Isaiah West is "a strong guard."
- Malik Presley "has had as good of days as anybody."
- JQ Roberts can play from the 3 to the 5. Was a track athlete in high school. Can cover up mistakes they couldn't in the past.
- Not a ton of pressure on the freshmen, which hasn't always been the case.
- Loves their grad transfer pickups. Evan Taylor "is a really good player." Lubin is their best post threat and may be able to face up some and stretch the floor.
- On Brad Calipari: Stackhouse joked "Brad spilled the beans on everything," regarding Kentucky. Said Michael Lancaster in Grand Rapids recommended him. Said he's a good skill guy. Brought him in and interviewed him and said he was about the right things. Dwayne Casey reached out on his behalf. But Brad got here on his own merit and "worked his butt off."
- Is this among his most athletic teams? Yes, and not just that but length too. They can shoot at a high level. Defensively, they've taken another step. They had to be perfect and be in the right spots. This team can recover and make plays because of its length and athleticism.
- They said they were forced to make some changes with the parity on the roster. There will be some guys who will deserve to be in the rotation that aren't there now. Said it's sad that because of the metrics (NET) you can't put guys in and develop players. They got burned by it last year. They'll finish games this year. "When in Rome, do what the Romans do. We'll try to beat the hell out of everybody in our non-conference games... we kind of learned from that and will adjust accordingly."
