My thoughts:

• His father is the head coach of the University Southern Maine . . . now going on 32 years.
• Non-star MLB players tend to emerge as "natural" candidates for MLB managerial roles (not a lot of stars with an extensive track record of success plus today's stars don't need the money or the headaches)
