Going to keep this update DL/OLB centric for the most part with the new offer out to Elijah McAllister yesterday:
- Here is more on McAllister - I talked to Richie Schnyderite, who covers New Jersey preps and Rutgers on our network. McAllister has torn both ACL's, one in football and the other in basketball, but said he's recovered nicely from those injuries. He noted he's played a lot of DE recently and it seems he's getting some more recruiting buzz based off his defensive play after having played tight end/offensive tackle previously.
Schnyderite said right now, Boston College is the top school McAllister is considering at the moment as most of his early offers have dried up. Rutgers wanted him really bad, but the interest wasn't mutual in that regard.
- Regarding Elijah Wade, he's already taken official visits to Cal, UCLA, Nebraska, and has one scheduled to Southern Cal. He's got one more left. Not sure if Vanderbilt will get that or if he'll even schedule a final visit at all.
- Timpview (Ut.) defensive lineman Jackson Cravens still have Vanderbilt among his top group. So far, he's already taken an OV to Michigan State and will take one to Washington as well. He will likely take all five official visits and lists the Commodores as one of the schools recruiting him the hardest.
- Another prospect to keep an eye on is Mary Persons (Ga.) DE/OLB Jatorian Hansford, the 6-foot-4, 222-pounder just picked up an offer from Missouri and is hearing from Central Florida and Vanderbilt as well. Hansford told me that Vanderbilt is currently looking at his transcripts, so an offer could be extended to the 3-star prospect down the road.
- Also, a reminder that Purvis (Miss.) 3-star WR C.J. Bolar will be the highlight visitor for Saturday's Kentucky game. Chad Simmons gave an update on Bolar earlier this week and said things are trending for the Commodores and he's already set up an official visit to Vandy on the weekend of December 9th.
