***With St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) cornerback Tyson Russell in the fold, the Commodores now have five total commitments with Russell being their first defensive back pledge. Vandy will look to add at least two more DB's to this year's recruiting class.

Some of the remaining top defensive back targets include:

Cameron Bergeron, Westover (Ga.) - who had some buzz surrounding a commitment to Vanderbilt over the weekend, but backed out. Despite that, Vanderbilt seems to still be in the race.
Jackson Hamilton, Blessed Trinity (Ga.) - younger brother of current Vanderbilt defensive back Elijah Hamilton.
Alan Wright, Woodward Academy (Ga.) - younger brother of Vanderbilt QB signee Mike Wright
John Howse, Brentwood (Tenn.)
Isiah Cox, Alcoa (Tenn.)
Myzel Williams, Delend (Fla.)

***Some movement among the quarterback group that Vanderbilt is targeting in this year's class as it appears they will take one signal-caller.

***First, after showing interest for quite a while, Vanderbilt offered Heinrich Haarberg back on May 4th but so did Nebraska, his hometown school. That naturally led to the three-star prospect to commit to the Cornhuskers five days later.

***That commitment led to the Commodores extending an offer to Fairhope (Ala.) product Riley Leonard, who has also picked up recent offers from Duke, Syracuse, and ironically, Nebraska (however, Haarberg committed after Leonard was offered, so they don't appear to be a factor anymore). The 6-foot-4, 204-pound prospect also stars on his high school basketball team, where he has offers from Mt. St. Mary's, Samford, and Missouri State.

***Sierra Canyon (Calif.) signal-caller Chayden Peery released his Top 9 schools on Sunday which included Georgia Tech, Louisville, Kansas, Nevada, Boise State, Louisiana, NC State, Maryland, and Vanderbilt. Georgia Tech, Louisville, and Vandy appear to be the front runners for Peery at the moment.

***Vanderbilt also extended recent quarterback offers to Chaminade (Calif.) product Jaylen Henderson and San Antonio (Tex.) Cornerstone product Lucas Coley. Coley visited West End back in early March for a junior day.
