To paraphrase, summer school has never been a part of the deal when it comes to scholarships for athletes; they cover just the fall and spring semesters.
There is also a movement to have more athletes get internships in June and July as a way to help them out on the other side. My understanding is that it's a new thing and a work in progress and that's all I know.
