Some people say that you can’t win championships running the Air Raid. Maybe Oklahoma will put that notion to bed? Of course, if you have Oklahoma’s talent, you might be able to win championships with several kinds of offenses.
Why might the Air Raid work at VU? Reportedly you can win with lesser talent. You don’t have to have a great line. You do need some skill position players with a QB who can operate in space. We can get those guys. You can win a lot of games and go to bowls even if you don’t win championships. I’m not holding my breath about winning the SEC anyway. Another positive is that it draws fans and skill players. Fans love watching it. They love having a fighting chance to beat the big boys. Athletes love racking up yards. We need both.
I don’t know if Leach has enough left in his tank to take on the Vanderbilt challenge. A young Lincoln Riley type guy might be the answer.
