Lots of discussion going back and forth on Mason and this team, whether they are or aren't better than last year, and if they are improving this year, and whether or not if the improvement is good enough to warrant another year for this staff.
I understand the level of a team that Austin Peay is, and that stomping them in the ground comes no where close to meaning we've arrived.
But, we should stomp them none the less. And if we do, we need to see our oline actually get something going, hopefully with Skule and Granier at tackles. Our wideouts should get open and CATCH, Jmac should be able to get some reps without much pressure, and as these things happen turn it over to Freebeck and the backups on both sides of the ball.
If we do these things, it doesn't mean to keep Mason. But if we don't stomp them , I do think it shows that this staff is not the answer. This should be a glorified scrimmage, if it's a ballgame in the 2nd half, it says all we need to know.
I personally feel we kill them, and show some improvement. Again, I understand the level of the opposition, but I think I've seen improvement so far, even on the offensive side, slight as it is.
Last year's team would have struggled this weekend, this year's better not!!
