This incoming freshman class is Stacks best, and one of the best (on paper obviously) I've seen at VU.
So, what does Stack do? He has a pretty good roster in front of them. A roster where there is no obvious weak link going into the season that you would point to as a definite spot for one of our talented true freshman to come in and be an instant starter.
Seriously. Where do you see a freshman cracking the starting five?
Center? Dort is the most interesting center recruit we've had probably since Oglivy. He's not beating out Robbins and QMB.
Forward? Chris said that Stack said that Dia is the most talented player on the roster. Smith is the most highly rated. Neither one is beating out Wright and Stute.
Guard? This is probably the area our returning players and transfers are the weakest and a freshman has the best shot of cracking the starting five. And I only say that because I haven't seen Manjon play, and Lawrence has flashed potential but hasn't been consistent yet. But, I don't really see Shelby or Lewis beating one of them out, either.
So, way to go Stack, you've actually gotten a roster together that's good enough to keep the best freshmen class in recent memory on the bench. What the hell are you trying to do man, be competitive in the SEC or something?😀
