I think what Stallings said and how he handled himself is first-class amateur hour. He should be (and probably is) ashamed of himself. His players probably hate him and, frankly, I don't love him. But, in D1 college sports this should be a slap on the wrist and some `sad face' press conferences and life goes on.
What will happen at Vandy?
I'm curious to see how quickly and swiftly the administration reacts. Do they support their employee or literally ice him and dump him soon. He doesn't deserve to be fired from this or after this season, but if he is -- it will be because of this. I want to see if Vandy can take the heat or if they're going to play hyper-reactive. It kind of reminds me of the `psychological testing' rumor in terms of the University playing damage control with athletics vs. playing to win and succeed.
If he gets fired or suspended more than a game, I think it is a VERY bad sign for Vandy sports regardless of how you feel about Stallings.
