and #7 in the NCBWA Writers' Poll.I have long argued these are the only legit polls as everything else is either generated by computer (RPI) or represents the opinion of a singular publication.The Coaches Poll should likely be given the most weight since it is a committee of coaches that selects the NCAA field.The tyrannical Josef Stalin was once told by an advisor that he should consider retiring because he was so unpopular with the masses that it was inconceivable he could win the upcoming Russian election.Stalin retorted that he was unconcerned by how the masses might vote,he was only concerned with who COUNTED the votes.Similarly it matters not what the masses think of our program.All that matters is that the NCAA Committee of coaches awards us a top 8 overall seed,making us a national seed playing at home until Omaha.I think based on our body of work to date,including the best overall record in the SEC and a quality road win v. UCLA,we would be awarded a NS if the season ended today.
