Anyone found effective ways to volunteer to alleviate the potential suffering in this crisis?

My mother-in-law is helping to sow masks for hospitals in northern California. I don't have sewing skills, and it's probably too time consuming to train me to be a nurse, but I am able to write a little code and dabble in quant analysis/data science stuff. (Less than you would think, ha.) Anyone know of opportunities to use this skillset on short notice?

I messaged the US Air Project https://twitter.com/USAirProject even though I'm definitely not strong in engineering or anything hardware-related. No response after several days; I'll try again.

I've thought about seeing if Johns Hopkins has any "bit sized" tasks relating to data that the public can take on. They're probably so swamped at this point, and taking on (vetting, training) short-term volunteers is really time-consuming, so I doubt there's much there.

Any thoughts or leads on opportunities?
