Games upcoming again this year against locals Belmont and Lipscomb at whatever the Sounds ballpark is called these days.

They had a table set up at the Banquet to sell tickets to these games. Problem was, they had no tickets to sell. I felt scammed!

I have mixed feelings about these 2 games.
In the early years of this arrangement I refused to attend them because, to me, all they had done was remove two home games from The Hawk. Yet my season ticket price increased from the previous year. Increases I understand. But increase while reducing 2 home games? I felt that was a bit over the top and a bit of "price gouging" on the part of the Athletic Department. (Personally, I don't think Corbs likes playing there; it's a killer ballpark for hitters it seems.)

To add insult to injury, these two games were not even televised the first few years. I'm not certain but I think they are still not televised to this day despite it being easy to do on SEC Network+. The cameras are already there, all they need is to turn them on and give Max or Joe a mike and we're ready to rock and roll.

My Personal Boycott continued up until recently. Which is why I visited the Ticket Table at the Banquet. I was prepared to buy tickets for both games. Alas, more injury is heaped on me, as there were no tickets to buy and it was not possible to even pre-buy. What a joke.

Consequently, I will continue my Personal Boycott even though Jack Leiter will likely start both games and I wanted to someday say, "I personally watched this year's Cy Young Award winner for being the top pitcher in the National League (playing for the Reds I'm hoping) in every game he pitched at Vanderbilt."

Fortunately, we are still able to listen to it on the radio and I can keep score that way just as easily as I can keep score while watching the game from my seat.

Just to show how totally petty I am, I have extended this Personal Boycott to Sounds games as well.
Until these 2 games move back to The Hawk I will never step foot in that ballpark.

Should you disagree I remind you of the adage, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me." As long as you don't throw a rock or large tree branch at me I'm all good.
