With Vanderbilt in the midst of a bye week, it gives them a chance to hit the recruiting trail and check in on commitments and key targets. Here is a breakdown on where the coaching staff will be throughout the weekend:

Thursday:
- Mason and Bankins are expected to be at Trevor Speights' game

- Gdowski will be checking in on Vanderbilt tight end commit Turner Cockrell at his practice

Friday:
- Mason and Bankins will be at the big mid-state showdown between MBA and Brentwood Academy checking in on Brandon Adams and a host of targets (Camron Johnson, Jordan Wilson, Ty Chandler).

- Gdowski will be in the Chicago area visiting Lake Forest Academy, Warren Township, and Neuqua Valley before capping off his evening at Glenbard West to watch Sam Brodner in action.

- LB coach Kenwick Thompson will be in Montgomery, Ala. to watch the St. James v. Edgewood Academy game.

*One name to keep an eye on here is 2016 prospect Kelvin Lucky of Edgewood Academy who plays defensive end and currently has offers from Troy and Georgia State. At 6-foot-6, 230-pounds, he could possibly be another T.J. Smith or Darion DeBrossard from last year in terms of his recruiting blowing up.*

- WR coach Cortez Hankton will be in South Florida checking in on Vanderbilt cornerback commit Frank Coppet (and others) as his St. Thomas Aquinas team take on South Plantation.

- OL coach Keven Lightner will be in Atlanta visiting Pace Academy and Greater Atlanta Christian during the day before watching their showdown that night featuring OT commitment Devin Cochran and targets Davis Mills (2017 QB, GAC) and Andrew Thomas (2017 OT, Pace Academy).

- Safeties coach Marc Mattioli will be in Meridian, Miss. to check in with the latest 2016 commitment in Zaire Jones.

- DL coach Frank Maile will be in the Indianapolis area visiting DL/OL target Coy Cronk during the day before checking out DL commit Cameron Tidd's game later in the evening.

Saturday:
- WR coach Cortez Hankton will be in the state of Maryland to watch Vanderbilt wide receiver commit Donaven Tennyson in action as his team takes on Georgetown Prep.
