- Vanderbilt's first of the 3 junior days will be this Saturday. We've heard of several prospects that plan to be in attendance, and we hope to bring you an accurate list of we think plans to be there. We believe that Vanderbilt's first commit will likely come out of one of these junior days. Josh Crawford was the first to commit to Vanderbilt last year at a junior day event.
- Of the prospects that we know will be there on Saturday, two names to keep an eye on for possible offers are Georgia OT Ben Skowronek. Both already hold multiple offers, and both are excited to make the trip to Nashville this weekend. Jack Defoor is an athletic lineman of his size, and his film is impressive. Ben Shkowronek is the big bodied receiver that Derek Mason likes. His versatility to also play a hybid tight end position is also interesting.
- We linked the video of a Rivals interview with Ohio offensive lineman Alex Gellerstedt yesterday. Gellerstedt received an offer from Vanderbilt last week, and the 3-star prospect is highly interested in the Commodore program. He will be at the junior day event this weekend, and he may be a prospect to watch. We believe Vanderbilt currently leads for his services. He also has offers from Illinois, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Wake Forest, and several others.
- Other 2016 targets that we believe Vanderbilt has positioned themselves nicely with include Tre Harbison, Kwon Williams, Obi Eboh, Koby Quansah, Bo Peek, Ikenna Okeke, Taleni Suhren, Robert Kraeling, Joseph Goff, Devin Cochran, Bryce Mathews, Thomas Schaffer, DJ Morgan, JaQuan Bailey, Nygel Edmonds, and Brittain Brown.
- Vanderbilt offered Rivals250 LB Koby Quansah yesterday, and he was excited about the offer. From my interview yesterday, I get the feeling that he wants to play in the SEC. He said that he and his mom are currently trying to work out a way to visit Nashville this spring. Today, Quansah picked up an offer from Michigan.
- There will be several instate prospects at the junior day on Saturday, and Deuce Wallace will be one of those. The Sevier County quarterback has offers from Northwestern, Louisiana Tech, Temple, and MTSU. With few quarterback offers out for 2016, it will be interesting to see what Vanderbilt does at the position. We do know that Wallace thinks a lot of the Commodore program.
