Got a few updates on more Vanderbilt targets I reached out to this evening.

- First up, new Vanderbilt target and current Oregon State OLB commit Halid Djibril. Despite committing to the Beavers over the weekend, the 3-star prospect is still keeping his options open.

The Los Angeles (Calif.) Cathedral product told us that Vanderbilt is definitely a school he is interested in and wants to visit sometime. Djibril noted that he's been in contact with C.J. Ah You on the staff.

- Cortez Hankton visited Alexandria (La.) WR target Jorien Vallien at his spring practice yesterday. The 3-star prospect is not a name we've mentioned a lot on here, but he's had a Vanderbilt offer since last October and holds offers from Mississippi State, Texas Tech, Arizona State, Colorado State, La Tech, UMass, and others.

Vallien says he's hoping to get up to Vanderbilt and visit sometime soon. Here are some things he had to say about the Commodores.

"Vanderbilt shows genuine love. They present huge opportunities for me and they seem like they have an amazing thing going in Nashville. That's why I would love to go and visit to experience it first hand."

"Coach Hankton says he likes my playmaking abilities. He was impressed after he watched me at practice."

- Timpview (Ut.) defensive tackle Jackson Cravens tells us that Vanderbilt is still one of the schools that are recruiting him the hardest. He's another target that C.J. Ah You has been keeping tabs on throughout. He told us he is definitely going to visit Vanderbilt at some point.

Cravens' recently picked up an offer from Michigan State, he has a cousin that currently plays there. Whether that will play any factor in his recruiting process, I don't know. He's also got offers from Washington, Utah, Oregon State, Boise State, and others. Notre Dame is showing some interest as well.

- Frostproof (Fla.) safety target Jeremiah Salaam told us he will visit Vanderbilt this summer and compete at their annual Friday Night Lights camp. He just picked up offers from Arizona and Oklahoma.

- Gateway (Fla.) defensive end target Dennis Briggs told us that he is still hearing a lot from Vanderbilt, but said he has no plans to visit this summer. The coaching staff recently visited his school during spring practice. It's believed to be a battle between Miami, Oregon, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and South Carolina.
