The big thing here is apparently Christian Little was suspended this past weekend.

On SC series
It was three different games, they did everything well in the first and had two big innings and McElvain was excellent.
Second game, they were outmanned, Sanders pitched really well and slowed them down
Saturday, they gave up one big inning, they walked 8-9 guys and Wimmer was destructive in their at-bats plus took a run away from them on Keegan’s ball up the middle. CF also saved a couple of runs on the Diaz ball.
Reilly’s bullpen work was good
Offensively, they didn’t do much on Friday and they couldn’t get the big hit on Saturday
On Maldonado and the Sunday start
Maldonado’s getting better but they aren’t sure on time frame; he’ll have to start slowly and obliques must be handled carefully
He’s tossing today but doesn’t know what that means

Was Christian Little available this weekend?
No.
Asked if it was health or something else and he said “something else.”

Is he available for Tennessee
First he’s worried about being available about Lipscomb
Said players have to meet their off-field expectations

Was asked about Tennessee offense
Said he didn’t want to think about it much yet (presumably because they have Lipscomb tomorrow) but said the lineup’s good and their young pitchers haven’t pitched like they’re young
Offensively they’re good and well-rounded.
Said they’re confident and play good defense
Vitello is a good coach and has a good staff

Asked about lineup with LaNeve/Hewett and no Casas
Said it’s performance and how you do every day
Said there’s a lot of guys with different abilities, not much difference when you get to certain players and that’s a good thing

On Vaz not starting and being pulled late in gamesmanship
Said there’s no health issue, he’s fine

On Holton
Said he left the ball over the middle of the plate and SC’s lineup is older with a 24-year-old and three 23-year-olds and you have to execute better than that
Said when kids are on everything you have to wonder (I guess that was a hint at pitch tipping)
I asked him a follow up and it said it went through his mind

On Hunter Owen and control and going to the bullpen
Said he didn’t wait to pull him there; he’d done a good job of getting out of the previous inning
The walks to the 8-9 hitters hurt
Then he went 3-0 to Belk and comes back and strikes him out
Wimmer was seeing the ball well and made him play
They thought they had the right matchup and

On Calvin Hewett
He puts good bat-bats together
Good two-strike approach, he just needs opportunities
Good athlete, good piece on the corners
