Remember before the Kansas game when the board was convinced were could be a 2 seed, we were a Final 4/Elite 8 team and a 4 seed in the NCAA tournament would be a disappointment? I suggested we might want to pump the brakes (because we hadn't actually beaten anybody, it was a long season and the team had a lot of growing to do) and was unceremoniously dismissed as a simple-minded negative fan.

I'm not revisiting that thread to say I told you so, I'm simply wanting to state the same logic still stands. It's a long season and this team has a lot of growing to do. Many of us have bought so much into the potential of DJ and Baldwin we are ignoring what is actually happening on the court - they are obviously nowhere near their potential at this point. Luke was becoming a great defensive anchor, but hasn't played well offensively all year even before the injury. LaChance is a different player all-together. I could go on, but you get the idea.

The point is this, just like there was no reason to assume we would reach our high ceiling this year after 5 games, there is equally no reason to assume we won't. DJ and Wade could figure out how to play under the weight of their potential. Luke could come back guns blazing. Riley could return to form. Etc, etc, etc... None of these things are out of the realm of possibility or even far fetched. Barring running the table in the SEC (or damn close to it) a 2 seed is off the table. A decent seed isn't and neither is a deep run in the Dance.

It's a long season and this team has a lot of growing to do.
