It's pretty ridiculous how college sports is now. NIL, transfer portal, "legal" tampering. It's just getting harder to give a crap about it anymore.
Especially when you're a Vandy fan. Zig when the rest of the country zags. For a university that's supposed to be so smart, they sure are dumb.
I've spent the better part of 45 years watching Vanderbilt refuse to invest anything of significance into athletics. Now, FINALLY, they are investing a significant amount of money into athletics.
Unfortunately, the rest of the power five are light years ahead of us here, so while we are excited about the new facilities (which everyone else has had for awhile), the rest of the country is out in front of Vanderbilt yet again on the NIL and transfer portal.
Paying players, tampering, transfer portal, it really makes it hard to care about college athletics anymore since they seem determined to turn it into the NFL/NBA/MLB. But,it's even worse when your team is always two steps behind.
