NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Southeastern Conference portion of Vanderbilt’s 2022 baseball schedule is set, as the league announced the conference slate Wednesday. Each school will play 10 three-game weekend series.

The 30-game conference slate gets underway March 18-20 as the Commodores welcome Missouri to Hawkins Field, marking the second consecutive season that Vanderbilt will open conference play at home.

The series with the Tigers will be the first of three consecutive weekends against SEC East opponents, as Vanderbilt will travel to South Carolina (March 25-27) one weekend later before returning home to host in-state foe Tennessee (April 1-3).

Vanderbilt will also welcome Florida (April 15-17), Texas A&M (April 29-May 1) and LSU (May 19-21) to Nashville as part of its conference home slate. The Aggies will be making their first trip to Hawkins Field since 2017, when Vandy took the first two games of the weekend to claim the series victory.

LSU will be making its first trip to Hawkins Field for the first time since 2018, when Vanderbilt claimed the bookend games of the three-game set to earn the series win.

In addition to their travel to South Carolina, the Commodores will visit Auburn (April 8-10), Kentucky (April 22-24), Georgia (May 6-8) and Arkansas (May 13-15). Vanderbilt will be making its first trip to Auburn since 2018, while the visit Arkansas will be the Commodores’ first series in Fayetteville since 2017.

The SEC slate is subject to change for television scheduling. The Commodores will release their nonconference schedule at a later date. The SEC Tournament is scheduled for May 24-29 in Hoover, Alabama.

Vanderbilt is set to open fall training Thursday afternoon. The Commodores’ fall schedule includes a pair of exhibitions at North Carolina (Oct. 15) and against Richmond (Oct. 26) in Cary, North Carolina. The team will conclude the fall with the annual Black and Gold Series, tentatively scheduled for Oct. 22-24, with an if necessary game set for Oct. 26.

The Commodores welcome 18 newcomers to a program looking to fill vacancies left by six Major League Draft selections, including a national-best two top-10 picks. Vanderbilt’s 2021 recruiting class was tabbed third-best nationally by Baseball America.
