While a two month old article, this write-up does give us some perspective about how the timing of when injuries occur . . . relative to the remaining duration of a player's contract, as well as the age and talent of the player, determines the "deal", if any, an injured player can expect. In this case, Mike Minor was still relatively young and had performed pretty well for a few years so more than one club wanted to sign him even knowing Mike would miss at least 1/2 of the 2016 season.
