Noticed tonight that Charles Bankins last two follows are a couple of prospects I'm familiar with through covering Western Kentucky in Brother Martin (La.) TE/WR Irvin Smith and Ashley Ridge (S.C.) quarterback Steven Duncan.
I've talked with both of these kids, the most recent being Duncan who visited Western Kentucky this weekend on a junior day visit. His current offer list will not jump out at you (SC State, Bucknell, Kentucky Christian, Newberry, & St. Francis), but he is hearing from Rutgers, Florida State, Purdue, Northwestern, NC State, East Carolina, South Carolina, Towson, Lehigh, and some Ivy League schools as well. WKU was his first junior day visit and he plans to take more to the schools listed above. His highlight film is pretty impressive and he threw for 2,589 yards and 25 touchdowns against nine interceptions during his junior season. He also has some familiarity with Vanderbilt as well, Kyle Anderton is his step-brother.
Steven Duncan Highlights
Irvin Smith is an impressive athlete, at 6-foot-4,230-pounds he is a dangerous threat in the passing game but what's even more impressive is he might be an even bigger threat in the running game as a blocker. His physicality is the second thing that sticks out (the first being his size) when you watch his film. He already has a handful of offers from Miami (Fla.), Arizona State, Colorado State, Arkansas State, Ohio, and Tulane. Vanderbilt will likely be in search for a Y-tight end in the 2016 class and Smith would be a perfect fit IMO.
