When the software change wiped my ignore list, I decided to use it as an opportunity to give everyone a clean slate.
Well, that didn't last long for a certain member, but I can report that the feature is much more effective under the new software. Comments and even threads started by the ignored member just disappear, and there's a little thing you can click at the bottom of the page that would allow you to un-ignore, if you so choose.
Haven't checked on mobile, yet, but this looks like a big improvement.
