Since Mason arrived on campus, there has been the comparison to Stanford and if that style of football would work in the SEC. While VU isn't running the same offensive scheme, the formula for success is the same - run the football, move the chains with a short passing game, and play great defense.

Two huge improvements that we've seen in year 2 that show Mason might be capable of executing his plan for long-term success at Vanderbilt -

Plays per game: + 17 - Averaging 78 plays vs. 61 in 2014.
Time of possession: + 4:11 - Averaging 33:41 in 2015

I know a lot of people don't keep up with recruiting but Mason and his staff seem to be identifying and landing some offensive linemen who could be capable of helping the trajectory of this stats over the long haul.
