Show a little bit more fortitude.
The team is much better than last year and you're not paying attention or, for some reason, finding comfort in hiding behind the "it's all over/same old Vandy/Madon sucks" narrative. We lost a tough game and obviously the red zone mistakes killed us. It's not the "statement game" we wanted, but that doesn't mean it just falls back to the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Take some time to think of this objectively. The team wasn't "unprepared." The play-calling was good and the gameplan was sound. We just lost and didn't make the plays we needed.
the defense looked good and held the 4th ranked offense and a QB that threw for nearly 50 TDs and 5,000 yards last year to 14 points.
McCrary was resilient despite mistakes and rebounded with a TD drive and we had a chance to tie. He has mobility, which Ludwig took advantage of with play calling. McCrary also has terrific pocket presence, sensing the rush, knowing when to scramble, keeping his eyes downfield, etc. More growth/improvement needed, but he's on track. The TEs will rebound...we saw them play well last year under Dorrell for crying out loud. Sherfield is a stud and Webb made some nice runs. Kentera made some great catches.
Even if you disagree, at least consider that proliferating the "we're doomed" narrative is damaging to Vanderbilt Football.
