Chris Mack is a really interesting candidate. If his daughter wasn’t attending Vandy, I’m not sure he would get brought up because he’s not a traditional Vandy type candidate, but I do think there’s a ton to like there.

He’s 278-133 in 13 seasons as a head coach. He’s been to 9 NCAA Tournaments. He has 11 NCAA Tournament wins. Been to four Sweet 16s. Vandy is not going to get another coach who has that much NCAAT success in his background.

One really interesting thing about Mack is he could be hired really quickly, and that could serve as an advantage in the portal/NIL world. He can come in and make an immediate impact in the portal rather than having a two week coaching search and falling behind. I think the big question here is whether Vanderbilt would look past whatever happened with him at Louisville, or if they would get hung up on it. Thoughts?
