Just got off the phone with St. Augustine (N.J.) head coach Pete Lancetta, who gave me a lot of great stuff on offensive line commit Jake Ketschek.
A few highlights of our conversation:
- Said Ketschek didn't start playing football until the 8th grade
- Was big and very strong as a freshman, ended up playing JV during his freshman year
- Early strength was credited to working with a trainer, which he still does currently
- His footwork has improved tremendously throughout high school
- Benches 350, squats 500, and dead lifts 600 lbs
- Re-iterated his strong relationship with OL coach Pete Rossomando
- Went up against Texas A&M signee Isaiah Raikes everyday in practice
Will post a more in-depth Coach Analysis piece later this week
